The rain is falling hard here in New York and we have a matchup between the Jets and the Broncos, this will be the first time that Aaron Rodgers will face the Broncos ever since the rumors between the Packers trading him to Denver started in 2022. This should be a low scoring affair here as both teams rank top 10 in the league for points allowed per game, and also rank in the Top 5 against the pass. The Broncos will need to defend the pass without J.L Skinner and Alex Singleton, who both suffered injuries and are on the inactive list for today’s game.
Aaron Rodgers who was on the Pat Mcaffe show this past week said that he’s feeling really good and that he’s still got it. He also noted that he is starting to trust his Achilles more and starting to run out of the pocket, run for 1st downs and just extend the play when it’s needed. Rodgers who had a very impressive TD pass to Garrett Wilson who both threaded the needle against top DB Christian Gonzalez. Rodgers is proving that he will test any DB/CB even if they are considered one of the best in the league.
Rodgers will need to figure out a way to get the ball past DB’s like Riley Moss and Patrick Surtain who are both playing exceptionally well so far this season.
Bo Nix who still hasn’t thrown a TD pass this season will be looking to do it for the first time in a rainy MetLife stadium, on the good news side of things, he will have his number 1 targeted receiver, Josh Reynolds playing today after he was a limited participant in practice after hurting his Achilles.
Javonte Williams who is off to a slow start this season will look to turn it around today as the pass might not be too effective for both teams, Williams will share the load with Tyler Badie and Jaleel Mclaughlin
Personally i think this will be a very low scoring affair here in a rainy New York with tremendous pass defenses. If the run is able to get started for both teams, i think the Jets and the Broncos will have a hard time staying off the field, but regardless the Broncos are looking to stay just as hot as the Jets following wins in Week 3.
