Well this one is set to be a good one folks, the Eagles are playing their most important game of the year up to this point, and this Commanders team is legit. They are ready to make some noise in the playoffs and claim that top spot in the NFC East.
Both teams have 7 wins but with the Commanders not having a bye week yet, they have 3 losses compared to the Eagles two. Which puts them second in the NFC East, so a win tonight for the Commanders would put them tied in the division while a Eagles win, would extend their lead in the division.
Some fans have already hailed this as a pre-NFC championship matchup between two heavyweights currently in the NFC. I’m hoping that we get a memorable Thursday Night Game just like we did last week. When we witnessed the Bengals and the Ravens give us one to remember, with a final score of 35-34, going the way of the Ravens.

But today’s matchup will be one for the ages, as we have rookie Jayden Daniels versus fifth-year quarterback Jalen Hurts, who both have already rushed for over 370 yards and passed for over 1900 yards. Both quarterbacks have the same style of play, as they both look to always extend the play as much as they can. If it’s not possible to make a pass, you can always count on them to take it themselves and make a run.
But just because these quarterbacks run, doesn’t mean that they don’t have amazing running backs in the backfield. Saquon Barkley leads the running back room with over 1100 yards on the season with 8 TD’s. While the Commanders running backs, Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson Jr both combining for over 1000 yards on the season with 10 TD’s. Look for both teams to do their best to dominate the run game as the Commanders are amongst the highest in the league for rushing yards allowed, while the Eagles are amongst the lowest in the league for rushing yards allowed.

The Commanders will need to find a way to break into the Eagles pass defense, as that is also amongst the top of the league. They rank 3rd lowest in passing yards allowed, so it will be interesting to see if Daniels is able to connect with Terry Mclaurin, Zack Ertz or even Noah Brown. Or will the Eagles just have a answer for everything the Commanders throw their way tonight?
The Eagles are also in the same boat as the Commanders, as Washington ranks 5th in the league for passing yards allowed, so if they can’t get the passing game to work, look for players like Barkley and Hurts to have big nights on the ground.
My prediction for tonight, is that this game stays under the 45.5 that Vegas has this game at. I think both defenses are exceptionally strong, and with how strong the Eagles defense is on both sides of the ball. I can see the Commanders struggling just a bit here. I predict the Eagles walk away with a 2-score victory. 24-14, Eagles improve to 8-2 while the Commanders fall to 7-4.
