Up until this point, we had heard conversations of the Mets, Dodgers, Red Sox, Yankees and the Blue Jays all being in the running for Juan Soto but now the water is starting to get warmer.
Juan Soto is starting to receive offers with more expected to come as the week continues. All five teams mentioned, have either met with the star or have already had a successful meeting.
As of November 20th, Soto had only met with the Red Sox, Mets, Blue Jays and the Yankees. With the Dodgers meeting scheduled for the next couple of days following the 20th, and will also meet with the Phillies.
-On November 20th, the Yankees and Juan Soto met and had a good meeting with good honest back-and-forth dialogue. The GM, Assistant to the GM, president and manager Aaron Boone we’re all in attendance for this meeting.
Team owner, Hal Steinbrenner from the Yankees said he has “no idea” if the Yankees will meet again with Soto or how he feels about the Yankees chances, but he did mention how they’ve got the ability to sign anyone they want.
-The Red Sox meeting went really well according to a report from Sean McAdam, it included a video that the Red Sox showed Juan Soto, noting the franchise’s history of star players from Soto’s native country, the Dominican Republic. The Red Sox also noted that they have tons of young prospects who could see the MLB 40-man roster and pair with Soto in the lineup. No talks of money or contracts happened during this meeting with the two parties.
-The Blue Jays also included a video presentation to show Soto during their meeting with the 25-year-old free agent.
-The Mets also met with the young free agent per MLB insider Jon Heyman. He said that high-ranking Mets officials showed up to the meeting including owner Steve Cohen, who made the trip to California to meet with Juan Soto.
