Today was the deadline to strike a deal with our nine Arb-eligible players. Thankfully the Arizona Diamondbacks were able to strike a deal with all of them. Zac Gallen topped the list with 13.5m and Kyle Nelson was the lowest paid with 825k. Today we will be listing all of the amounts that the Diamondbacks and their players agreed to. As well as an update on where we go from here.

Zac Gallen – 14.1m (2026 UFA)

Josh Naylor – 10.9m (2026 UFA)

A.J Puk – 2.9m (2027 UFA)

Ryan Thompson – 2.9m (2027 UFA)

Geraldo Perdomo – 2.5m (2028 UFA)

Kevin Ginkel – 2.4m (2027 UFA)

Joe Mantiply – 1.7m (2027 UFA)

Pavin Smith – 1.5m (2028 UFA)

Kyle Nelson – 825k (2028 UFA)

Now with some of the bigger names like Naylor and Gallen signing for less than lots of people had projected. It makes you think if maybe the Diamondbacks are still actively shopping the market.

The Arizona Diamondbacks met with Roki Sasaki according to a source. Diamondbacks execs were in LA, and have been scouting Sasaki since the Diamondbacks acquired Yu-Min Lin. Now either one of two trades would need to happen. Moving Jordan Montgomery and Ryne Nelson or Eduardo Rodriguez. Both moves are just essentially freeing up space in the rotation for Sasaki to be in the MLB rotation. But Montgomery’s would mainly be a money dump.

The International Bonus Poll money gets reset on January 15th, and Sasaki is expected to make his decision soon after. Now regardless if Sasaki chooses to become a Diamondback or not. The Diamondbacks have a spoken agreement for Elian De La Cruz. The D-backs and Elian agreed to a 1.2m deal and is expected to sign on January 15th. The Diamondbacks are also expected to sign 2 more international free agents.

Personally, if we are able to make the moves we need to, so Sasaki can have a spot, then why not. Arizona would be the perfect destination for Sasaki to thrive and just become the greatest pitcher, as he said he wants to be. Also don’t forget, this deal will be similar to when Ohtani signed with the Angels. It won’t be record breaking numbers since Sasaki is only allowed to sign for a certain amount.

The Diamondbacks are also still shopping a DH. According to a source, the price range for that is around 10-30m. But could be hard to value due to the Burnes signing earlier in the offseason. The Diamondbacks are also expected to trade for a relief pitcher. They are still wanting to deal prospects for MLB talent.

Recently, the Diamondbacks completed a trade with the Astros. Sending over pitching prospect Matthew Linskey who in 2 seasons has a 2.75 ERA with 3 teams. The Diamondbacks receive Grae Kessinger, who is a utility man and will more than likely make the roster as the final man. Being able to play all around the infield.
