Rays Have Held Talks About Potential Postseason Home
The Rays and the MLB have started to hold preliminary discussion, on what would happen, if the Rays were to make a deep postseason run. Currently the Rays are playing at a minor league stadium, and despite selling out over 40 games of the 50 played there, it only seats about 10k people. Which wouldn’t really work out come deep October, since the MLB holds 7,500 tickets to the Championship Series and the World Series to hand out. But the Rays also don’t wanna be at the disadvantage of playing at a neutral site in the postseason. Also not to mention the challenge broadcasters would face holding this at a smaller venue. Another important thing to note is that players checks from the postseason could be far less if the latter half of October is played at the Rays temporary home. It’s a messy situation and definitely one to monitor as the Rays hold the top Wild Card spot, and are slowly hunting down the Yankees.
Browns Get Approval For Indoor Stadium
After years of trying to finally get a new stadium approved. It happened, the State Senate and House of Representatives approved a nearly 600m budget for the Browns near indoor stadium. The way this happened, was by the State pulling 1.1bn of the 4.8bn in unclaimed funds. The Browns get 600m of it, and will pay it back with tax revenue. The rest of the money is devoted to facility upgrades and other things. As well as the possible renovation of the Bengals stadium.
Kutter Crawford To Have Wrist Surgery After Off-Field Incident
Crawford is definitely gonna wanna put this season in a ball, crumble it up and throw it out. Kutter who has been on the IL since the beginning of the season will have wrist surgery, according to manager Alex Cora. Cora wouldn’t elaborate on how the injury happened but they did say it was an off-field incident. He did state that the injury was an ‘accident’ and it did not result from poor behavior. Crawford just adds to the list of the pitching injuries that the Red Sox have suffered this season.
12 NASCAR Cup Teams Appeared in Federal Court
*This section if part of an ongoing legal battle between 23XI and Front Row Motorsports VS NASCAR, we will only be covering the latest information and none of the past*
12 teams appeared in federal court on Tuesday, and tried arguing to a judge that showing the teams financial information, could disrupt the sport in ‘catastrophic’ levels. Adam Ross who is the attorney fighting the case as a whole VS NASCAR said that NASCAR’s request was a ‘fishing expedition’. NASCAR said that they would hire a third party accounting firm to redact any information like listing the teams anonymously and redacting sponsor info.
The judge sided with the 12 teams but they will still have to show some information. Which is their annual top-line financial data (total revenue, total costs, and net profits/losses) on an anonymized, average per-car basis for each year dating back to 2014. Kaulig Racing has already sent over their financials.
Fred VanVleet Makes a Decision
Reports emerged that Fred VanVleet’s team option will be declined, it was for 44.9m. But after the blockbuster trade of KD, they didn’t wanna lose out on him. The Rockets and VanVleet agreed to a 2yr/50m that includes a player option in the third year. VanVleet has voiced multiple times with the media and behind closed doors, that he wanted to stay in Houston. With the trades of Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks, VanVleet will certainly have to play a bigger role.
84 Game Season Coming to The NHL?
According to ESPN, the NHL and the NHLPA are currently negotiating an 84-game season. The raise of two games each season has been discussed privately in the NHL for the last couple of years now. But it seems like it will become a reality now. The plan is to cut down on some of the preseason games to help on the wear-and-tear on the players. Which is the NHLPA’s main point of concern in the addition of these two games. According to ESPN’s sources, the CBA could be agreed on soon, with a lockout not seeming likely.
Giants May Make Long Awaited Addition to Oracle Park
Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Orlando Cepada, and Juan Marichal, what do they all have in common? Well, Giants fans can go outside the park, and take pictures with a bronze statue of those legends. But one has been missing, for years. Fans have been asking forever and now, the Giants have taken notice.
But yesterday, on 95.7 The Game, Giants Owner said that a statue of Barry Bonds is officially on the radar and its coming. He wouldn’t go any further than that, but it seems like this is the final step in certifying Bonds as a San Francisco legend.
Ace Bailey Rough Draft Night
Ace Bailey is already starting to stir the pot in ways he didn’t want too. According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, he had absolutely ‘no idea’ that he’d be drafted by the Jazz and it wasn’t one of his preferred destinations. Utah’s president of basketball operations said “We really like him as a player and a fit in our program.” The mystery of Ace Bailey continues to unravel, as he was also the only American who didn’t work out for an NBA team.
Fortnite Helps with Baseball?!
Yes, you read that right, and yes we are talking about Fortnite on Bear Sports News. Yes this is a sports website, and yes they correlate. Jeff Passan from ESPN spoke with Jacob Wilson, shortstop for the A’s. He mentioned that some days he wakes up, plays Fortnite and goes to the park and sees the ball very well. On days he doesn’t, he admits that he tends to struggle.
“I do believe in the hand-eye coordination that video games give — as long as you do your homework,” Jack said. “Kids, if you’re reading, do your homework.”
Jacob Wilson this season is having a jaw dropping campaign. He is currently batting a .347, in 300 AB’s.
Wilson is definitely going to be a star in the league if he keeps this pace up, and Jacob can credit Epic Games’ Fortnite for his success.
