A huge congratulations to everyone within Old Pueblo Tribe for the huge night! It was amazing to witness in person and Bear Sports News can’t wait to see what the future holds for the Tribe!
It was a storybook day for Old Pueblo Tribe, despite already having a couple of games under their belts. Co-Owner and player, Marcus considered today’s game against the Sun Belt College All-Stars their unofficial Opening Day.
Walking up to the ballpark just had a different vibe, people were excited to get in there. I heard very similar remarks from all the fans in attendance, ‘i can’t wait for this game to start’. Gates opened and fans flooded the park, found their seats and waited until player introductions started. Cheers from every player’s family when they were announced, players tipping their caps. The love for the Tribe has already been long embedded into this team. Then shortly after, pre game ceremonies began, and first pitch for the Old Pueblo Tribe was quickly after that.

I wasn’t sure what to expect as it was my first time watching an Old Pueblo Tribe game. Let me tell you guys, it’s something that you guys will just have to go out there to believe for yourself.
The chemistry within the dugout was strongly noticeable, and i’m certain that chemistry led to their huge first inning. Dylan Hartmann quickly got the bats popping with a single with Adan Koch-Rodriguez showing off his patience at the plate in the big moment by drawing a walk. Sean Phelan had very hard contact with a groundball but unfortunately was hit towards second. Phelan did an incredible job extending the AB which gave Hector Torres some extra time in the on deck circle to see what the pitcher was throwing.
Torres was able to bang a ball into the gap and drove in 2 runs on a single. Old Pueblo Tribe first ‘unofficial’ runs of the season. Torres caught a good game behind the plate as well, showing off his determination from both sides of the plate.
Angel Faras also showed off his patience and drew a walk, Tony Villegas and Co-Owner Marcus both were able to draw in singles of their own to end out this first inning full of fireworks.

Daniel Davils was tasked with keeping the Sun Belt All-Stars off the bases and get the Tribe back in as soon as possible to keep those bats hot. He did exactly that, only allowing one hit, one walk, and was able to get the strikeout on Padilla. Adan Koch-Rodriguez also capped off his solid first inning by an amazing on-point throw to the catcher to keep the runner at third.
Old Pueblo Tribe’s pitching did extremely well, with Daniel Alvarez, Danifer Diaz, Cristofer Tejada, Juan Aguilera and Kaiden Reeve all making appearances today. They were all on point, striking out batters, even fooling a batter by making him leave his bat on his shoulder.
