*This story was written before Randy’s trade to the Mariners*

Well it seems like just yesterday, we were all getting our baseball jerseys out of the closet, firing up the grills and getting everyone together to watch another Opening Day and with a week until the Trade Deadline and some teams like the Cubs saying that they will be looking to rebuild for the future. So today we’ll go over 5 teams that need some help and some potential trade targets that will be conversation come Tuesday’s 6PM deadline.

So first we will start this conversation off with the Yankees with some MLB players like Luis Severino saying that they are only a two hitter team. The Yankees definitely aren’t feeling the same way with being first in the league with runs and second in the league with 147 HR’s. But they definitely could go for some help in the relief department, another infielder that can be a solid day to day starter for them, and maybe another productive batter with some young talent like Jasson Dominguez potentially being traded away.

The Dodgers can also be huge players in this year’s deadline with big names like Glasnow and Kershaw making their returns this week, the Dodgers will wanna keep the ball rolling and try to fill that shortstop position that isn’t performing to standards, and also test the market on adding another solid starter pitcher and Randy Arozarena to their already amazing outfield.

The Cubs might be all in but who do they really wanna go away with, do they really wanna lose their power hitter like Ian Happ who’s came in clutch in some big moments already and providing 3 HR days or another amazing player like Seiya Suzuki? Mark Leiter Jr, has been gaining some interest from teams that need reliever help so we will see come Tuesday what the Cubs do for their future.

Angels have been struggling for years to become a playoff team, with Mike Trout still only seeing postseason ball, once in his career. Big names are hitting the free agency market next year like Brandon Drury and Kevin Pillar and reliever Hunter Strickland, don’t count out the Angels to potentially make some huge moves before the 6PM EST deadline.

Blue Jays have big names like Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr hitting free agency after the 2025 season, and yes they have said they would have to be overwhelmed with a offer to trade any of those players but the question is, will they wanna deal these players if a offer from the Rays comes in a few minutes before trade deadline, offering Randy Arozarena and some much needed prospects for Bo Bichette? Huge names are still on the table regardless for the Blue Jays to trade out of Toronto, so the question now is, will the Blue Jays go all in this deadline or watch the market to pay their reliever Yimi Garcia this offseason.
